Matter-Antimatter, 2021

In the exhibition at the Gallery Espai Nivi Collblanc in 2021, both individual works and the overall installation allude to the complex scientific topic of Matter-Antimatter in a subtle and entangled way. As in science, for every particle, there exists a corresponding antiparticle, exactly matching the particle but with an opposite charge, so are most of the displayed works interpreted the same way. A collision between a particle and its antiparticle leads to their mutual annihilation, creating energy like cosmic rays. The exhibition attempts to make its own cosmic narrative the subject of artistic-scientific investigation, to explore what lies behind visible reality.

Orbits (densed/expanding), 2019-2021

This work was created slowly over a more extended period in analogy to the creation of the scientifically generated image of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field (HUDF), one of the deepest images of the universe, taken in the range of visible light. Its single picture was created from 800 individual exposures taken during 400 earth orbits of the Hubble Space Telescope between September 2003 and January 2004. My work also refers to this multiple fragmentation of an image and shows a tactile version of the HUDF, in opposite dimensions: compressed and expanding. But it could also be a swarm of species in the depths of the oceans, likewise portraying a world opposite to the universe.
