Bio-Fusion experiments and clones, 2022
The work Bio-Fusion experiments and clones results from multiple artistic experiments in which synthetic threads and natural plant elements are merged into models of hybrid textile matter using scientific methods and metaphors. The work consists of two parts: the analogue experiments mounted in cardboard boxes and their printed digital clones. The experiments are small objects made of vegetal elements such as lichens, palm trunk fibres or red and green algae, which were intervened by machine embroidery with synthetic threads. A digital extension of these has been created by photogrammetry. The two components stimulate a vibrant relationship between the real and the virtual, the scientific and the artistic, the natural and the textile.
